A history of Ijebu pride
Ijebu North East Local Government was created in 1996, carved out of the historic Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area. With its headquarters in Atan, the LGA spans 10 political wards and is home to a predominantly Yoruba/Ijebu population renowned for industry, hospitality and a rich cultural heritage.
The LGA's economy is anchored by agriculture (cassava, oil palm, cocoa), vibrant local markets, haulage along the Lagos–Benin corridor, and a fast-growing digital and SME ecosystem powered by LOGMAS.
Traditional institutions remain a strong pillar of community life, working hand-in-hand with the elected council to preserve identity while embracing modernization.
